Abandoned Accounts | If your account has had no activity in the last year and you have not contacted the credit union, your account becomes dormant. After three years of dormancy, your account becomes abandoned, and the funds in the account will be sent to the State Comptroller by June 25, 2024. Click here for more details.

Get your college career started with a 5Point Scholarship.

We are awarding eight $2,500 scholarships to select high school seniors. Scholarship recipients are 5Point members who exemplify the credit union's values in their academics, leadership, and community involvement.
 

Requirements

The following minimum requirements have been established to qualify for a scholarship:

  • Applicant must be a member in good standing with 5Point Credit Union.
  • Applicant must be the primary owner of a 5Point share (savings) account in existence by March 27, 2024; parents’ accounts are NOT sufficient.
  • Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited high school program during the 2023-2024 academic year. Homeschool programs will be accepted on a case by case basis.
  • Applicant must be accepted by March 27, 2024 for admission as a freshman to an accredited college, university, or equivalent institution for the Fall 2024 semester.
  • Applicant must submit an SAT score, ACT, or TSI score.
  • Applicants may not be employees, children or grandchildren of employees, officers, or board members of 5Point Credit Union.
  • Applicant must have an overall “C” grade point average or better.
  • To be eligible for consideration, applications must be submitted by
    March 28, 2024, no later than 5 PM.

Application Process

Our scholarship committee will review all applications submitted by the deadline. Each applicant will be notified of their selection by the end of April 2024. Funds are distributed to scholarship recipients after we receive the student's proof of registration from their selected college or university.
